About Management Studies Organization (MSO):
The Management Studies Organization (MSO) is registered in the Ministry of Economy of Afghanistan with the registration number 4693 in March 27, 2019. The overall goal of the MSO is to provide humanitarian and volunteer services for active contribution in reconstruction and development of Afghanistan through strengthening democracy, good governance, and social justice
BACKGROUND
Integrity Watch Afghanistan as the premier anti-corruption Afghan non-for-profit organization has been implementing CBM Programs since 2007 in Afghanistan. To scale up the program and build organizational capacity of local CSOs, Integrity Watch Afghanistan has partnered with local CSOs to implement its Community Based Monitoring of Health (CBM-H) Program. Integrity Watch Afghanistan will provide technical and financial supports to local partners to implement the CBM-H in the relevant provinces. The Program will bring more coordination between communities and duty bearers, increase transparency and accountability in the public service delivery, enhance the quality of public services through collaborative information sharing and problem solving by community members. The aim of this program is to make officials more responsive to community’s grievances, encourage communities to support public service delivery and advocate for policy change at local and national levels.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Integrity Facilitator is a social organizer who leads, guides and is directly in contact with a team of Integrity Volunteers (IVs) – volunteer elected representatives of community who monitor local clinics on behalf of their community and report findings and seek local opportunities to address the findings in the local clinic. The IF will help in community mobilizations, program’s forms distribution/collection and facilitation of outreach events in the community and follow up on the problems identified by IVs in the target clinics. He/she is also responsible for the entry of the data on the www.communitymonitoring.org . The main purpose of an IF is to support IVs in their work to help ensure transparency and solve identified problems in the target clinic. Every IF leads a team of 20 male and female IVs who are solely dedicated to monitor clinics in their communities.
Facilitate means to assist communities in establishing processes by which they can elect community representatives (Integrity Volunteers)
Mentor and lead IVs to meet extensively the community members and record observations in the local clinic through forms or SAR applications
Follow up IVs activities and regularly attend meetings at clinic, district, provincial levels
Facilitate community activities such as mobilizations, feedback meetings, baseline/endline, IVs monthly meetings
Do the data entry, and make sure that the database is reflecting accurate and in-time field data
Facilitate establishment of strong relationships with local stakeholders (local officials, community members and civil societies) in the district and provincial levels
Explore and seek local opportunities to solve the identified problems
Facilitate and participate in the Health Management Shura Meetings with officials to regularly share the IVs findings with them
Reporting to local partner regularly about the progress of the activities from the field
Any other program related tasks, as instructed by the local partner
CAPACITY BUILDING
Participating in local partner’s workshops to build personal and professional capacity
INDICTORS FOR SUCCESS
Utilizing the latest tactics and skills of leadership at work
Being updated and aware of Integrity volunteers’ activities in the field
Strengthening rapports with community councils, CSOs, government and other stakeholders
Being fully engaged in all community feedback meetings 3 times in a quarter to raise public awareness about problems solution of target public entities
Putting efforts on cultivating CBM-H in local levels especially amongst youths and garner their support
Efficiently leading and guiding the team to meet the minimum fix rate appointed by Integrity Watch
Getting the job done in a timely manner while adhering strictly to principles of transparency, accountability and integrity
Convening meetings with communities and officials to find solutions for identified problems at least once in a month
Participating in IVs meetings once in a month
REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor’s degree in any field
At least one year of work experience in the community
At least one year of work experience in the public health sector
Able to communicate in English, Pashto and Dari both written and oral
Have a good understanding of Microsoft Office and databases
Have good knowledge of corruption in the public services and be inspired to fight against corruption
Have good oral communication skills
Able to establish good relationships with communities, health officials and civil societies at the district and provincial levels
